Critiques

The decline of the megafauna during the later pleistocene is so startling within the fossil record that Pau Martin in the 1950's proposed that Clovis Man was responsible. Prior to that climate change from the ice age was thought the primary factor. But, Martin and others not only found bone pits combined with evidence of fire and human habitation that the realization that humans caused decline of mega fauna seemed likely. In this volume, Paul Martin is the editor as a whole generation of young scientists follow his lead with their research. This is a must read and must have text for the classic science library.

Paul Martin was a giant within the field of archeology before the age of computers, and of the southwest in particular, and this later book is a must have in the science library. Nicely bound large sized volume with maps, photos, drawings, etc.

Paul Martin was a giant of archeology in the days before computer modeling. He wrote books for the lay person, as well as for the professional in the field. This book is an introductory overview of Native American culture before European influence. Must have book for the science library.
