S. Alessandro Martinez

A very quick read, Martinez's nearly 50-page book of dark stories told in verse is essentially a cross between SCARY STORIES TO TELL IN THE DARK and anything by DR. SEUSS. Each poem in this collection is a unique story with a traditionally dark gotcha at the end of it. Many of the poems are accompanied by equally dark art by one of three different artists who contributed.

Every poem in this collection uses the same rhyming scheme, which gives the entirety of the volume reads its Seussian quality. Although this volume might not be intended for children (and it's probably too dark for a very young set anyway), it would make a good addition to any kid's SCARY STORIES TO TELL IN THE DARK collection.… (plus d'informations)
