- Marguerite Mooers Marshall was born on 9 September 1887 in Kington, New Hampshire, USA, daughter of Lela Mooers (Brown) and Herbert Walter Marshall. She obtained a A.B. from Tufts University in 1907. On June 3, 1916 she married Sidney Walter Dean. She was columnist for two New York dailies from 1922 to 1945. She writing for the New York Evening World and penning “The Woman of It” column, which appeared in about 60 American newspapers. She also published short stories and 14 romance novels from 1911 to 1952, when she retired.
She enjoyed spending the holidays in Quebec, where she and her husband kept a summer cottage, and she continued using after her husband's death. On may 1964, Margaret went missing, and a week later her body was found in the woods near Lac Beauport, north of Quebec City; it was determined that she died of exhaustion and exposure.
