I enjoyed it. It's a collection of book excerpts and articles skimming over all the different types of anarchism from both left-wing and right-wing authors. (Some people mentioned that the book isn't very representative in terms of keeping a balance between left and right takes on anarchism, but I'm more interested in the anarcho-capitalism angle of it so no complaints from me). I found it useful as an introduction to the philosophy and added some of the more interesting authors to my reading list.… (plus d'informations)

If you grew up in the United States your history has been red washed. This is a great read to get a basic history so that you can explore anything further on your own.

As promised, this is an interesting journey to the fringe of American politics. I definitely learned a lot, but also felt like I was missing some crucial foundation in places. I hope the paperback edition of this book includes a "Further Reading" section in addition to the notes and index, since I think that would be helpful to other readers. Anyway, I only took half the red pill. Maybe I will take the other half once I do more reading on the subject.

One of the best books about modern American politics, both the alt/new right and the “evangelical left” that it was a backlash against. Covers a pretty broad spectrum from Buchanan and Pinker to Cantwell and Jared Taylor. Always interesting when a Jewish writer is meeting with people who have made various degrees of anti Semitic statement and digs deeper to get specific about exactly what it means, etc.

Net result of the book was solidly reinforcing my dislike of democracy. Essentially all of the “identity politics”, racism, immigration restriction debates, etc cease to matter without democracy. His examples of LKY and Pinochet on the right are two excellent ones; another is the direct corporate and free market provision of services.

Interesting trips to various events, discussions with various people, etc. Overall a really entertaining and informative book.
