Josh MacDonald

MacDonald is a good playwright and I expected this play to be good, but it's more than that, it's excellent. The stagecraft, the submerged and emerging settings and fused storylines, the symbolic unity and framing of the play, all expertly rendered. There is so much that you don't see coming that the play maintains an intensifying freshness as it unfolds. I really hope I can see this play acted live in the near future.

A play which superbly balances the comic with the tragic, the superficial with the depths.
