*Trigger warning for this book: domestic violence, rape, gore, emotional and physical abuse of minor children.
I was intrigued by the cover and the blurb. I refused to read any other reviews until I was more than halfway through the book, and honestly, I'm glad I did. I just wish I had been given warning to some of the content.
I liked the plot, but the Northern Ireland slang kept throwing me for a loop and at first, I was going and finding translations, but it just slowed down the reading for me; so I gave up and just added my own words if I needed to.
Jamie McGuiness is a 16-year-old boy who is haunted by the ghost of a traveller girl. She sees him at the lighthouse where his sister died 3 years prior and starts to haunt him, and eventually possess him.
There are so many twists and turns in this book! I couldn't keep up with them all, and every time I thought I figured things out, something new was thrown in and I just had to keep reading to figure out exactly what was going on.
This book will stay with me for quite some time, due to the complexity it presented in the overall plot. Things I never thought about came to light and it was just creepy all around. If you are OK with reading about the things mentioned at the beginning of this review, run to pick up your copy and get started down this twisty path!… (plus d'informations)
