I received this from LibraryThing Early Reviewers. The premise sounded interesting, but I did not enjoy this one at all. Most of the characters didn't ever feel real or believable to me, and the main character, Parker, totally turned me off.

It wasn't until after I had finished reading this book that I realized that it was the 7th book in the series. However, since each book can be read as a standalone each with their own endings, I was not completely in the dark with the characters.

Chris and Nia are childhood sweethearts and everyone knows that they will be happily married in the near future. However, as Nia starts to realize that this may well be in her near future, she has a panic attack and starts to wonder what her life may be like outside of Booker. Somehow she convinces Chris to agree to a "break out" so they can go outside of Booker and find out who they really are without each other and their families. Obviously, the outside world opens up plenty of possibilities for them, including possible new partners.

The overall story was good. I kept wanting my eyes to read faster so I could find out what happened next, definitely a page turner. A handful of sex scenes, steamy and well written but nothing over the top. Now to hunt down those other 6 books and see what the other Ryan boys have been up to.

Breaking Out is the seventh in the Rocking Racers series. In this fast moving novel, Chris and Nia struggle to break out of the Chris/Nia longstanding bubble and explore the world on their own.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Christian Ryan knows love when he sees it. Having watched his uncles and father fall in love right in front of his eyes, he’s confident Nia Matthews is his forever girl. Absolutely nothing will stand in his way of making Nia his. Nia Matthews has loved Christian Ryan her whole life. He’s her best friend, her lover, her everything. But she yearns for more. She yearns for a life outside of Booker, a life of her own. When it comes to light just how apart the two are, the distance seems insurmountable. Will they break up, break out, or realise that sometimes the best things come from the most unexpected circumstances?

REVIEW:
First let me say that this is the first book in this series that I have read and it took me several more chapters than usual to get into it. I can normally get the feel of a novel in two to three chapters and nearly gave it away several times within the first ten to twelve. Perhaps if I had read the other books first !! Now I’ve seen several relationships like Christian & Nia where he (Chris) knew that she (Nia) was his one and only girl and the one that he was meant to spend his life with. This book highlights the different ideals of (some/most) young people. It is highly probable that some readers may find the sentiments expressed frustrating but so is life, sometimes. Someone once said ‘Home is where the heart is’. Boy if ever that statement applied to a good read, once you overcome Chris & Nia’s frustrations with their family and each other, this is it. I give it 3+ stars.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from LibraryThing for review.
