Looking for a Leprechaun is a fun and entertaining tale of a boy who is finding who he is. He is constantly told he is not wanted and does not belong. That is, until he enters the magical world of finding a leprechaun. He believes that a leprechaun can give him the answers he seeks of where his place should be. During his journey, he sees that it is not as easy as it seems and begins to give up. Along the way, Rich, learns some valuable life lessons that so many of us, young and old, can learn from. I thought it was a beautiful story of embracing yourself and loving the way you are.

Looking for a Leprechaun is vividly illustrated by the talented artist, Edixon Rodríguez. The colorful pictures are eye catching and can easily keep the youngest of readers engaged all throughout while reading. They are a perfect addition to the story.

Five stars is what Looking for a Leprechaun deserves. I recommend it for readers who are between the ages of four and nine years old. I believe it would make a great placement on public library and classroom shelves. I am curious to see what other adventures author, Richard Lopez, has in store for his young readers in the future.

I received a soft cover copy of Richard Lopez's Looking for a Leprechaun from the publisher, but was not required to write a positive review. This review is one hundred percent my own honest opinion.

“Looking for a Leprechaun” is a charming story that blends an enchanting world with a meaningful message. The story revolves around Rich, a young boy who embarks on a quest to find his rightful place in the world. The vivid settings such as the Spring Garden, Misty Mountain, and the Wandering Woods, make the story engaging and adventurous.

The themes of self-discovery and overcoming negative influences is skillfully laced into the plot. Rich’s encounters with magical creatures and challenges enhance the whimsical atmosphere, and a fairy’s guidance and the quest for a leprechaun add layers of excitement.

The colorful and vibrant illustrations complement the magical elements of the story, creating an immersive experience. I love the central message of looking within ourselves for our purpose and place.

First Line: Rich lives in a magical world with beautiful creatures, but everywhere he turns he hears people saying he doesn’t belong.

I really enjoyed this book. It had a good positive message about looking within yourself and you will find happiness and discover you belong. It is always great when Childrens books teach lessons.

The illustrations are great, and I like that the story was short without using a lot of big words. So that the young readers can read this book pretty much on their own without much assistance. The fact that each page was short sentences is great because like my niece, she likes to read but still had short attention span. So, too long and she gets bored.

Rich went on a grand adventure to discover just where he belonged. In doing so, he did learn that he belonged just where he was and that if he listened and looked at everything around him in a different, happier light that others around him are happy as well. I could read this book again.
