This was a real find! I have other books by Leszner, and value her work generally. This one, though must be one of her best. There are very clear diagrams of variations on many favourite stitches. The patterns are delghtful. If you want to be told exactly how to work them you are out of luck. She assumes that you will chose your own stiches to suit what you want you to do.½

A superlative collection of designs with helpful commentary on using them. It has everything one could want in a collection of Assisi patterns. I recognize some of the patterns as architectural details from Assisi, but I don't know whether they were adapted by the author or found by her already adapted.
