I appreciate that the author did a lot of research and the pics are fabulous. However, the language was frustrating. This book was clearly written for the layperson and yet terms were rarely defined well. Archetype definitions (with graphics, not necessarily photos) would have been useful. Many of the "explanations" simply left me wanting. Why was a bridge designed in such an unusual way? What is that thing sticking out? Why are you calling it a cantilever when I see nothing hanging out? And so on. I wondered whether the author had it edited by someone who simply gave a superficial glance at the paragraphs but devoted most of the attention to the pretty pictures.… (plus d'informations)
