3524. The Great Dissenter: John Marshall Harlan 1833-1911, by Frank B. Latham (read 12 Jan 2002) This is a little book, very simplistic and not worth reading. The book's forward indicates that a legal scholar, Alan Westin, was (in 1970) preparing a worthwhile biography of the first Harlan's interesting career, but it appears unfortunately never to have been published.½
