A great thriller and adventure story, set mostly in Colombia. The action starts with the crash of a regional jet and the dispatch of Jammer Davis to investigate it on behalf of the US. It becomes personal for him because it turns out his daughter was a passenger on the plane. It's a detective story while Jammer investigates what actually happened to the airplane and is confronted by barriers from the local authorities. Good background about air crash investigations makes for interesting reading over and above the action story. Exciting finale. It's plot dominated, with some good local colour about Colombia. Recommended as light entertainment reading.… (plus d'informations)

Like reading an old Dirk Pitt book by Clive Cussler, or Jack Ryan book by Tom Clancy, Assassin's silence, is a non stop action book written for now. This was very enjoyable.
A team of assassin's is out to kill and cause mayhem, on a massive scale, but they need participation from a top level former Mossad assassin- David Slaton, who's is retired from the game.
I won't give any more details, because it might spoil many of the surprises, this is a great beach read. This was the third book in the series, I did not read the previous two books, but just enough is revealed, from the previous books, that the reader doesn't feel they are missing important information. The next book comes out in august, I can't wait.

WOW! this one of the best thrillers I've ever read/listened to.

Bryce Ridegway is a former Army Ranger turned first-term Congressman. One day while at a fundraiser, suddenly there's an attack on the presidential frontrunner, and Bryce is able to save the day. Instantly he becomes an American hero, and suddenly the new frontrunner. Public opinion for him is so high it's obvious he'll get elected.

But his wife, Sarah starts to notice strange things about her husband. He's barely ever home, always making excuses about the campaign to stay away. And when he does talk to her, it's clear that something is off. He doesn't recognize old friends, he doesn't know old stories. Sarah enlists the help of her friend Claire - a government analyst- to uncover what exactly Bryce is up to that is making him act so oddly, and they get dragged into a huge mystery.

This was great from start to finish, there were zero slow moments. Some of the twists I did see coming but that didn't effect my enjoyment. If you enjoy political thrillers and conspiracies, you will love this book.

Thank you netgalley and Macmillan audio for giving me an advanced review copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

Assassin's Edge is one of the more disappointing books in Ward Larsen’ Assassin series. The story starts slowly as Larsen provides unnecessary and uninteresting technical details about equipment and procedures. Characters who do nothing interesting in the first hundred pages are introduced. For example, on page 74, a three-page background sketch introduces a new character. The extended background detail stops the (meager) flow of the story while providing no clue as to the importance of the character.

The ending is particularly disappointing. I anticipated a climactic scene in which David Slaton confronts the POV villain. spoiler alert Instead, the villain strips down to his underwear to show Slaton his wounds.

I’m hoping the next book in the series rebounds.
