BROWN LIKE ME is a very cute story about a little girl looking for other things that are brown, like she is. She looks for the color in this all around her from animals to drawings to nature. Her family, however, appears white. We see this in the photos that are provided in the book. However, she doesn’t mention this detail at all, nor does she categorize herself as being different either. At the end, she looks in the mirror and finds brown in herself, from her skin to her eyes to her hair. It’s a very touching, self-accepting and loving story.… (plus d'informations)

This book is for children 2-6 years old who are developing self-concept of who they are and they may look different from others. This book is about a young African American child who is raised in a white home but has realized she is different and brown and enjoys finding brown things like her and accepting herself. this book can also be used one on one for children who are brown and are struggling to accept them self and skin color.

This book is a short story about a young African American girl who accepts her individuality and is unapologetic towards it. Lamperti shows her everyday activities that she carries out with her family and friends.and by doing this she shows that her caucasian friend s and her still do the same activities together. She was adopted by white parents and for some reason everything brown catches her eye. This book is a very good read for students who need a little push in order to celebrate their individuality.… (plus d'informations)
