Extremely well-researched biography of the great Hollywood actress, marred only by numerous typographical errors and some infrequent subjective maudlinities. The authors manage to make Hayward, a difficult and angry woman, a nevertheless fully human and rather understandable one. The level of detail is refreshingly deep.

Originally quickly published to jump the publication date on the excellent Bosworth biography, this sometimes lurid and foundationally questionable biography nonetheless has some value.
