This is a niche, wonky book, but it's my niche (as I am a career development professional working for an international global health non-profit). I was skeptical as I always am with people who make generalizations about aid work across dozens of countries and sectors. You will see lots of arguments in the margins with some of Kumar's assertions. But I also found the book to be extremely well researched, with creative examples and new (as well as old or outdated) ways of thinking. I would recommend this to development professionals, as well as others who may not be as experienced with thinking about the future of global aid and independent country advancement.… (plus d'informations)

Raj Kumar well-researched book focuses on philanthropy by such billionaires Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, and others. These billionaires are "disrupting" philanthropy by creating organizations and initiatives that may end poverty and give people what they really need. An interesting read.

An industry review of the "global aid industry". Author presents a different perspective from the more traditional models of the past used in international development. Advocates for results oriented giving which requires a deeper focus on measurement and evaluation. Recommended for anyone who gives money to international causes. It will be eye opening.

A very nice look at data-driven and results-oriented giving. This perspective is a necessary underpinning to beginning any discussion about the allocation of global aid - after all, if an option isn't effective, then it doesn't quite matter how noble the cause is.
