Following mobilization of the Army from the Revolution through World War II gives an excellent perspective on military history in the US. There are many, many excellent tables, not just of men but also equipment and budgets. There are some interesting bits that are not just mobilization of men. I would never have throught that China and Japan received contracts to build and sell ships to the US for World War I. The place of the CCC in diverting the military from war duties to officering and building CCC camps also proved how quickly the army could mobilize young men from all across the country.… (plus d'informations)
