From the moment I met Lolly ( later Lita) I knew I would love this book. From a young age she has had to fight , dealing with a mum who for to various reasons couldn't care for her but they loved each other until her death . Lolly is taken in by someone who just sees pound signs ..which are connected to the mystery and intrigue that gradually starts to reveal itself . Her life then changes again until that life comes to an end and she's on her own again. We learn more but not the whole story and I loved the character so much I ordered the sequel " Stolen ' before id finished it.
Roberta has made it into my top 3 favourite authors ( and there's a lot of competition ) . And Lolly / Lita's story and indeed Roberta herself has become a keeper .
Don't want her story to end . But also want to find out who did what.

Very, very interesting. An insight into the kind of man Reg Kray was and ultimately became by the person who knew him best.

Story about a widow who gets caught up in a kidnapping of a London underground's villain's daughter. OK thriller with a twist at the end. This book for me however was not grity enough for where it is set. I have two main critisms, the first being the swearing. Whether you love it or hate it people swear. In the enviroment this book has been set there would have been a lot more swearing than what is in the book. This does not affect the story line but in real life there woulld have been more. ( Am i been too Picky ?)
The other is that the author was married to Reggie Kray and has gained a lot of knowledge about the ganster east end of London, so I think a lot more of this knowledge could have been used in the book, agian am I being too picky ? Would like to have seen a romance between Jo and Miller. Still an OK read in the vain of Martina Cole but not quite as good.
