What's different about this translation is that the translator uses only one English word for each Hebrew word; e.g., if the Hebrew is "amar" (he said), then she translates it as "he said" each time. She also tries to show connections with related words; so "Adam" becomes "groundling" to show the connection with "adamah" / "ground." (Earth is already used, by "eretz" so "earthling" is not available.) All this is helpful if you want to get a better sense of what the original is really saying, but the wording definitely feels awkward at times.
The book includes all of Genesis in English; there is no Hebrew text.

Admittedly, translations as diverse as those of ArtScroll and Everett Fox translate it in the singular, but the ArtScroll commentary explains that it is plural and then gives interpretations such as the blood of all the descendants that Abel would have had. So the translation is not completely faithful.
