This a good book to explain dirt and how it is made and what it consists of. It does a good job of including academic language and explainign the processes of decomping and erosion with clear illustrations. as well as the role soil plays in our world. The text is great for teaching informational text structure. This book includes a table of contents, glossary, index, fun facts section as well a science experiment at the end of the book. There is also a listof web resources and further reading if students wanted or needed to do further exploration ofn this topic. The book is appropriate for k-3 level readers or lower readers in higher grades.… (plus d'informations)

Summary: My Brain is a book that gives easy to understand information about the brain and how it works. It talks about the three major parts, the things that it helps you do, and how it sends and receives messages.

Personal Reaction: I thought the book gave a lot of really good information, on a way that young kids can understand. It is at a third grade level, and it seems appropriate to me. I thought it was a good book.

Classroom Extensions:
1: Draw what they think their brain looks like based on the book description.

2: Make a list of things that their brains help them to do, use recall to remember what was mentioned in the book.

This book manages to turn something as interesting as human flight into something dull and lifeless.
