This book was a great read, perfect for children who need a little boost of self-confidence. This book can work for any circumstance, whether it be trying to improve school skills, or sports skills, etc. This book also shows children to express their emotions to their parents because they may be able to help! In the little girls case, her mother was able to give her encouraging words and even a necklace that was able to comfort the girl and give her confidence. The big message of this book was that hard work can certainly pay off as long as you don't give up. Even if the situation seems impossible, it most likely is achievable!… (plus d'informations)

In The Silver Slippers, the child is referred to as "the little" girl, who dreams of becoming a prima ballerina. She takes ballet classes and practices at home, but struggles with improving. Her ballet teacher announces there will be a recital and she hasn't decided who will be the prima ballerina. The little girl wants to be the prima ballerina so she practices and works hard. Her mother gives her a ballet slipper necklace as a visual reminder to work hard for what she wants. In the end, the little girl becomes the prima ballerina and is proud of her herself for her accomplishment.

This book was given to my older sister, and it came with a little locket that matches the one in the story. This book would be really close to someone's heart who enjoys ballet dancing. Identifying with a character from a book has you focus on the description of their personality and the comparison of yourself to the fictional character. I might share this as a personal read so the class would learn something about me then i could assign them to find a book that has a character that closely relates to them in some way.… (plus d'informations)
