Excellent, fascinating book. A man who teaches thanatology (study of death) to high school students is suddenly confronted with more than abstract contemplation of his subject: a serial killer is at large in his small town... and he's discovered a lump he fears might be cancerous. As the death toll mounts and his physical condition deteriorates, he discovers death is more complex and pervasive than he ever guessed. Well-written and compelling, this is not a story the reader will quickly forget.
