Kleines Bändchen mit sehr schönen Ganz- und Detailfotos, Grundrissen und Stadtplan-Ausschnitten zum leichteren Auffinden der Bauwerke in Glasgow und Umgebung. Sparsame Begleittexte in Englisch, Deutsch, Französisch und Italienisch.
Einband und Schutzumschlag sind offensichtlich der Reihe "archipockets" des Verlages untergeordnet, was ein Jammer ist. Gerade bei Mackintosh hätte man die markante Schriftlösung von Glasgow School of Art und Willow Tea Rooms erwartet.
Alles in allem bietet das Bändchen eine gute Übersicht, beschränkt auf den Architekten Charles Rennie Mackintosh, zum kleinen Preis.… (plus d'informations)

This is a slim and attractively produced book covering the later years of Rennie Macintosh, which he spent in Southern France. The parallel French and English text is illustrated with photographs of present day Roussillon placed alongside early photographs and CRM watercolours of the same scenes. The author is President of the Association CRM en Roussillon, and the final section of the book contains maps and a tour itinerary. As this description suggests, this is a lovely little book for fans of Charles Rennie Mackintosh and Roussillon, but not prize material.… (plus d'informations)
