This 8th Poppy McAllister mystery, this one a Halloween mystery, is a fun, quirky book.

It's my first book read in this series, which I think was a disadvantage, since I had a hard time getting going in it, but once I did, I picked up and I liked it. Lots of humor and loads of fun.

Maybe I'll start at the beginning and read through the entire series.

(I received a copy of this book from the publisher, via Net Galley, in exchange for a fair and honest review.)

Here we go again with another fun stressbuster of a fun cozy! The town calls the place the murder house because Poppy keeps finding bodies. This time it's spooky season and there are home tours and more. The guests are all into paranormal but are argumentative with each other. The laughs never stop! The characters are fun and quirky, the goings on border on farcical, the sleuthing was good, and the food mouthwatering! Fantastic recipes at the end! Not to be missed!
I requested and received a free temporary e-book copy from Kensington Books via NetGalley. Thank you.

I have to admit that I was at first a little intimidated by the length of this cozy mystery, 434 pages. I needn’t have worried. The hilarity of all the characters, including the furry ones, never stopped. For me it was all about the journey rather than the destination in this cozy mystery. The multitude of characters, including the B&B guests and employees, aunt Ginny’s friends, the resident cat Figaro along with the guests’ pets, the police department, Poppy’s Italian beau, Gia and his family members…. all contribute to the laughs that easily propel the story towards the conclusion of the whodunnit. I don’t want to downplay the mystery aspect of this cozy. I was committed to finding out who killed the man in the armoire and that revelation did not disappoint.

I loved everything about this cozy. I laughed out loud so many times that I can officially say that this series is an absolute favorite of mine. Don’t let the length deter you, you will love every minute of this wild, hilarious ride.

Poppy and her Aunt Ginny are busy at the Beautiful B&B with guests but still find time to go to the Auction House because Poppy is trying to get an armoire for one of the guest rooms. Not sure she'll still want it when a bloody body falls out. Poppy wants to find out what happened to the victim and at the same time she is dealing with a few romance hiccups.

I really love this series with the quirky characters and delightful interactions.
Well done!
