- Courte biographie
- Grand Duke Cyril Vladimirovich was the first of the Romanov family to break his oath of allegiance to his cousin Tsar Nicholas II by taking the side of the Provisional Government in the Russian Revolution of 1917. The rest of the Imperial family was deeply offended and did not recognize his claim to be the legitimate heir to the throne after the tsar and his family were killed.
Cyril, his wife, and their children escaped Russia and settled in France.
