I enjoyed this dark humor book. Like Laurie, I lost my dad to cancer, too. My father's death was well before Twitter ... and I would not have tweeted about it.

But hey, we all deal with death to close ones in different way, so I applaud you Laurie Kilmartin.

Sometimes, I like to get off the politically correct horse and jump into a world of four letter words and not giving a f*ck what anyone else thinks. This is not a book for everyone. It's crass, insensitive and everyone would probably find something at least a little offensive, if not downright disgusting.

For parents, this is a laugh-out-loud funny book about all the things you shouldn't (but often) do to survive parenthood.

With special sections for working moms, single moms, older moms, stay-at-home dads, this book has a little bit of laughter for everyone.

I bought this book because the title caught my eye and because my grandpa was ill. Now I read this book because my grandpa went through hospice care and is now deceased. Since this book is written by a comedienne it makes sense that it is pretty funny. There is also some good advice to be gleaned from the pages of this volume.

Honestly, my biggest issue with this book was the price considering its length, but that is mostly up to the publisher and has no bearing on the author. If you can find it used or from a library I guess I would recommend that or the Kindle version, since $21.99 is rather expensive even if it is hardcover.… (plus d'informations)

Thank you Laurie Kilmartin for writing one of the best books I have read about death! I too lost a father to cancer so I know from first-hand experience the trials and tribulations associated with this diagnosis, treatment, time with hospice (for us almost 4 years!) and his ultimate death. While I might not have appreciated some of this right after his death, now that some time has expired, I am reminded of so many things that even he would find funny! Maybe that's why I thought it was so funny - because he would have as well! Anyway, thank you for bringing things into perspective as well as reminding us to laugh while we can and whenever we can.… (plus d'informations)
