I’m not sure that I liked the protagonist of this book. Sammy is a sixteen year old with all of that baggage that comes with that era. When she arrives in a distant realm accidentally, she’s kind of a whiny little brat who is unappreciative of the people who are helping her. I didn’t like her from the beginning and the guy who is helping her is also a little unlikeable. The alternate realm is interesting but not as compelling as in other stories. Overall, I just didn’t care about any of the characters enough to read the next book in this series. It’s not a bad book but I just didn’t connect with any of the characters. Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for providing an ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review.… (plus d'informations)

I received this book for free from the author. I absolutely loved this book! It's a fantasy where a girl meets a strange woman who gives her a special bracelet. The bracelet transports the girl to another world of darkness, monsters and magis. The storyline flowed and kept my interest throughout.

16-year old Sammy is pulled into another world and just wants to find her way home, but there is someone from Earth who is “chosen”. She was told it wasn't her, but now she's not so sure.

Fantasy isn't my favourite thing, but it was ok. I probably liked the parts better when she was on Earth (no surprise there, as if I'm reading fantasy, urban is more my thing). I still got interested and wanted to see Sammy find her way home. There were two very nice illustrations at the start of two chapters, and it's too bad there weren't more. They wouldn't have changed the story, but they are beautiful pictures to go with the story.… (plus d'informations)
