While I received an ARC of this book, I have made an independent decision to post this review. Mary is down on her luck but doing her best to always do the right thing. She meets Crash at work and the rest of the story is a bit of a wild ride. I loved it!

Rcvd an ARC at no cost to author..(netgalley) I hope you guys read the first two books in this series you will get so much more and so much laughter. This book was about Minnie's brother Crash and I loved him. Crash is hired to investigate some kidnappings by a man he doesn't like and Big Mike his sisters fiance and also a man Crash isn't crazy about only because he is with Minnie and he is a overbearing overprotective brother, but he does admit that Big Mike takes care of her. Anyway back to the story Crash is hired to investigate these kidnappings and he requests the matronly Mary the senior accountant to assist him. These two could not be more opposite, and Mary is a stickler for rules and very opinionated but you have got to read because they are funny together and Mary's background is crazy..Loved that Minnie was involved however I was a little bummed that she was not in the story more or Big Mike that is my only criticism..Enjoy!… (plus d'informations)

Accountant Mary Holmes is trying to get her life back in order after a stint in prison. Partnering up with Crash Coolidge on a hijacking investigation is not the way to do it. Crash walks the fine line between legal and illegal, most often on the illegal side. Crash doesn't know what to make of Mary. She's earnest, organized, innocent and honest. Despite their differences the two work well together and eventually give in to their mutual attraction.
After a slow start I did enjoy the story. There was enough tension in the investigation, enough humour in the relationship, and enough likeability of both the main and secondary characters. Although the second in a series, it works as a standalone. I wouldn't mind reading more about Mary and Crash as secondary characters in future entries in the series.… (plus d'informations)

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This story is described as "hilarious holiday love story filled with sizzle, sugar, and sass...". Unfortunately, it falls short in all of those. The characters are flat. None of them are developed quite enough. It read to me like I picked up the story part of the way in and missed some information at the beginning. Maybe the characters are part of a bigger story?

However, the story line is cute and does have some humor in it (but is not quite "hilarious"). There is potential for it to be developed into a nice romance novel. If I saw another work by this author, I would definitely consider reading it too.… (plus d'informations)
