This is really a quick read...I was not as impressed as many of the other reviewers. I had a difficult time staying focused and wanting to finish the book. By half way through the book, I was turned off with Johnny Allan’s flamboyant attitude. I tended to skim through many pages of the book just to get it over with. This would not be a recommend for me.

I really didn't like this book very much. The best part were the characters. I think it's an interesting view
on social media and how it influences our lives. I didn't think it was well written, kind of slap it together. It could have done better with some review and rewrite.

I really enjoyed this novel. It was a quick read but the story was impactful. Johnny Allan makes friends with his neighbors and gives them insight into their own lives. He is a young man who decides he will no longer use social media after he breaks his phone. He strikes up a friendship with a couple in their early thirties who live in the same building and the story explores their interactions. I thought the characters were well drawn with enough quirks and details to seem like real people. It explored some interesting ideas - about how social media can define us and what happens when we break free from it.

I also enjoyed that in the back of book there is a list of music from the 20s that has been released into the public domain. It got me to listen to things I’d never had a chance to hear before.

I nearly stopped reading this book a couple of times as I found the cadence of the author's writing style rather jarring somehow. I did finally finish it, but It seemed more like an angst-ridden journal or diary rather than a novel. However, it was an uncorrected advance copy, so perhaps the final version was a bit smoother & more coherent?
