Dahl's History of the Book par Bill Katz
This was one of the books listed by my professor in lieu of a regular textbook. So as a "textbook" it was much more engaging than the usual. As a regular reading book it was pretty good. I didn't finish this book because the section of class covering the history of books ended, and it wasn't worth it to keep reading after its usefulness was over.
Essential reading for those aiming to provide excellent reference services not only in libraries, but in non-traditional fields
Used for course; had lots of suggestions for reference sources.
This reference work documents all that must be considered in creating and/or maintaining the reference section of a library. Although the book is dated and does not cover the internet and online services for research, the basics of encyclopedias, dictionaries, bibliographies and government documents are all covered.
