This is a reference book, originally published in Russian, in 1964. I have no idea of its scientific or medical usefulness. It's full of charts, jargon, gruesome illustrations, and just plain scary stuff. For example, "Kazakhstan Fever","Visceral Leishmaniasis","Dracunculiasis" and so forth. You can't make up names like these. Not even if you're a Japanoise band. I found my copy, a second edition, in a used book stack for $.25. I am totally captivated by the title. I make believe sometimes it's an incomplete work by H.P.Lovecraft, or a new film by David Cronenberg, or a new release from Projekt Records.
