Cheeky, honest and completely lovable! From the very first page, I loved this book. It is written with such brutal honesty as to what it is like to 'lose' a husband/wife, especially to infidelity. Though I haven't been through this situation or a divorce myself, I have watched as a dear family member went through a similar situation, which was much messier. The emotions, turmoil and utter sense of abandonment, that are shown by Greer in the first stages of the divorce, are exactly what I saw.

I love that Greer's story is written as if we are reading her diary. We get the outside picture as well as all the little thoughts in her head. We even get to experience the breakthrough moments and the, well, embarrassing moments. We are there with her through thick and thin, and boy does she take care of herself.

We all know a woman or women, well even myself really, that dread approaching the horrid age of.....4-0. All of them, even if they don't show it, feel like they are approaching a hump, and afterwards they will be classed as 'old.' Not true, but it is still something that everyone believes. Greer, is one of those women. As we join her, and her life falls apart, she is 39. She dreads the thought of hitting the big 4-0 and being alone, sad and lost. So she declares she isn't going to live that way. She is going to make the most of things, even if a few cursing moments and embarrassing car journeys are involved. So, she is 39 and holding. Waiting, until she can grab everything she needs, pull herself together and live like she deserves.

Then we meet him. The man that may be her undoing, or he may just be another weirdo wanting to get in her pants.

I love her descriptions, her emotions and reading along and she fights with herself to decide what she should do with her life, and whether what she should do is what she wants anymore. Greer starts to question whether maybe she should do what she wants to do, and as she questions, we follow along on her journey and watch as she grows.

The pace of the story is excellent as well as the character depth. We get to know quite a lot about both major characters and the minor ones, giving us a fab chance to really get into this story. I found myself siding with and falling for Greer from the beginning. She has a brill personality, and I love her 'in her head' cursing of the situations. She is so real. The pace fits is perfectly as well. First she is lost, and time passes quickly, but without much at all happening, then we are hit with gritty details as she progresses, all with the pace still giving us loads to laugh and cry about, as well as fall in love with.

Overall, I loved this book. I recommend to all lovers of romantic comedy, especially those who like cheeky ones or films such as It's Complicated. I know I have a few people and women specifically whom I'll be suggesting this book to! I loved every moment of this read.

I just did not like either of the main characters in this book. I do get where both sides are coming from. Both made mistakes, but Sam was very harsh after finding out Sav lost their baby. I think his behavior was unforgivable, and trying to make Sav jealous with her enemy from high school?! You're in your late 20s now, and you're seriously playing games to make someone jealous?! Not acceptable. Sav shouldn't have run away every time either, but I don't honestly know what she was supposed to do when Sam said he wanted a break, but he didn't really want to break up. Yes she was going to sit around waiting for you to screw around and come back to her. He could not have cared less about how she felt with her father dying and her BFF having cancer. He just got mad cuz they didn't get to spend a lot of time together anymore. Could he be anymore selfish?! No wonder she didn't tell him about the baby!… (plus d'informations)
