As I see more and more children with their own Iphones, laptops, I-pads etc. I worry about their safety. They tend to be just a little too trusting.

This story is told in a fun and interesting way for children but with a serious message about child predators on the internet. Amnica, a young witch, plays on a gaming site where she "meets" several others. She meets a spider that seems really interesting to her. When she sets up a meeting with him, she does not tell her mother. Fortunately she has a pet bat with her to help her out. When her mom realizes she is missing and checks out her computer, she calls the police. This ends happily, but sends the message about safety.

I think this would be a great book to be in school and classroom libraries as a source to reinforce safety on the internet.

I received a copy of this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Annica, a teen witch, was surfing the web. Then she played an online video game that had chat rooms so gamers can communicate with each other. She met a spider in a private chat room. Annica emailed the spider on one Creepy street. They chatted and she told him her secrets about a crush on a Vampire. He asked for photos. She decided to meet him at the mall.

Someone whispered to Officer Tate that there was a spider who prowled the internet using games as a cover. This is the part that
is very relevant today. Something like it was on our news the other night Officer Tate called the "Internet Crimes Against Children Task
Force". I will not give any more away. It is a very good book to read and discuss with your child, no matter what their age. I got a lot out of it, myself, as a parent.

Thank you to Lee Jordon: Author, Drew Rose: great illustrator, Black Rose Writing: Publisher and Netgalley for giving me a free ARC copy of this book to read and give my honest review.
