I think informational texts in general face the challenge of boring their audience to death, especially if the reader is a child. However, I was glad to see that was not the case for this book. The information is interestingly laid out and portrayed in an easily digestible way. For example, when explaining the biology of Helix snails, the text states, “Helix snails, like most other animals, have wandering cells in their bodies that can take tiny particles of different substances inside themselves. The author explains information in a way that is easily comprehendible and not overly complicated as many informational chapter books can be for younger students. I also enjoyed reading the catchy subtitles, such as “Something Like Squids, But Not Quite” and “The Adaptable Periwinkle.”… (plus d'informations)
