A cute and brief story of a border collie named Monty. He was clearly a very loved boy, so loved that his mom wrote a book about his life from his perspective. It starts out with her perspective but once Monty is in the picture it is mostly told in his "voice". His experiences with family, the beach, with chickens, seals and sister cat Snowy. From a literary perspective it could have been longer and skipped around less. But from a dog mom perspective I think this is a precious and personal work.

The author had a great idea with this book but it doesn’t quite meet the mark. It’s very short. Each “thought” is about 1-2 pages long. I had expected some “doggy wisdom” but it’s more like a kid telling you what they did in school today. A positive though is the adorable pucs by of the pup narriating.

Sensitive book about our fuzzy friends

I live with dogs and dogs live with me. Dogs are not human. They are not surrogates for humans. They are dogs and most every word and attitude in this mercifully short work denies that fact. The owner dresses her dog in stupid costumes. She wants him to turn into a little boy. She imagine she sees the world through his eyes. She even forces him to become a vegetarian and has him praise her for it. Sentimental, anthropomorphic rubbish/
