Hal Jackson (2) (1933–)

El Camino Real de Tierra Adentro – the Royal Road to the interior – was the wagon road from Mexico City to Santa Fe. This guidebook allows the modern traveler to trace the route. The book is strongly pitched toward English-speaking North Americans; although author Hal Jackson allows Mexico is a “wonderful, hospitable” country, and acknowledges a few of “many” guides in Mexico, the bibliography is all English-language books. The publication date is 2006; it’s not clear that maps and hotel recommendations in Mexico are still pertinent.
