This book is filled with facts and tips on caring for and learning about the Rottweiler. In eight chapters, the author describes interesting topics such as the history of the Rottweiler, feeding your Rottweiler, grooming, and more. The author sprinkles interesting facts under each topic, such as the fact that Rottweilers live up to 8 years. If books with no pictures bore you, this is definitely the right book for you. There are cute dog pictures on almost every page, but this does not take away from the information given. Here's a fact I learned from the book: Adult Rottweilers usually have the proportion of 9(height) to 10(length). People usually stereotype Rottweilers as big, mean dogs but this is usually not the case.
In my opinion, Tracy Libby did a fantastic job of describing the Rottweiler in just over 200 pages. My favorite part of the book was definetly the puppy pictures!🐶 I've always been a fan of Rottweilers, and this book certainly didn't extinguish that adoration. I also liked how the author used old phrases to help explain things. For example, when she was talking about ear care, she used the phrase, "Never stick anything smaller than your elbow in your ear". Not to mention that she added tip boxes on every fourth page, along with the occasional caption for photos. Lastly, I'd like to give this book a rating of 9 out of 10.

This was a good introductory book about schnauzers that I bought when I adopted my first one. As each breed can be very different, this book helped me learn the more common traits and behaviors associated with schnauzers that aren't so readily found in other breeds.

A nice introduction to bringing home an adult dog. It's a good starting point, but you're guaranteed to need more information and some of the stuff in here seemed a lot like common sense to me.

A good introduction to every aspect of the Beagle breed. Compared to a lot of pet enthusiasts who take a stance on such things as diet, hunting, and cropping, I thought this author was very balanced. For that reason especially, this book is informative.
