I thoguht this was really fun take on fae story. I really like the unique elements of how austism rep was presnt. I did not feel that connected to the characters and the plot had some pacing issues but i really did like the quest eleemnt of the story!! I was fun new fae read!! I would def check out the sequel!!

lmauro123 | 13 autres critiques | Dec 28, 2023 | I was very intrigued by the book's premise but the story didn't quite reach the mark for me. The characters were interesting but they didn't hook me into the narrative and I found a lot of their actions to be repetitive and sometimes frustrating at times. It had great fantasy elements but wasn't executed in a way that felt "fantastic". I was very excited to see a main character with autism and thought those elements were handled well and respectfully.

sydnienova | 13 autres critiques | Feb 6, 2023 | This is such a fantastic book! I absolutely adored it and had a great time reading it.
The story follows Seelie, who is a changeling struggling with the fact that she is different from the human family she grew up with.
She shares a close bond with her human twin sister, Isolde. And when her fairy magic manifests in ways Seelie can’t control, she ends up terrifying the villagers and putting her family in a dangerous position as they continue to protect her.
In order to spare their parents any more pain, she and Isolde run away with grand plans to become rich and buy a home for their parents in a place where Seelie will not be considered strange or a danger.
There’s so much to love here but one of my favorite aspects is the neurodiverse representation! The author was diagnosed with autism and I really appreciated how well these experiences are captured.
I particularly loved the relationship between Seelie and Isolde. Their bond and also their tension and fights felt really authentic. My brother/ best friend is on the autism spectrum and i was really happy with the way the sisters’ relationship was portrayed.
I also felt like the pacing was good - will say it was a little slow at first, but still kept me intrigued. About a quarter in and I couldn’t put it down.
This was a wonderful treat to read. I loved the characters, the world descriptions, and the heartfelt story.… (plus d'informations)
