Amazing that one man produced this work. Very few errors- mostly errors of omission. This work is in two volumes. Volume 1 lists and discusses each handwritten Greek manuscript of the Apocalypse of John known to the author, including any unique readings, and any affiliation with other mss. He also describes the skill and neatness of the scribes thereof, and gives his own estimation of the date of creation thereof. Volume 2 is Hoskier's collation of the mss. for the text of the Apocalypse. He distinguishes those ms readings containing Nu Ephelkustikon from those not, also distinguishes number abbreviation differences and Nomina Sacra differences. Contains many readings from versions, such as Coptic, Latin, and Arabic (the latter from Walton's Polyglot). It is a learned skill to use this work. One must be careful to read it sequentially, page by page, since Hoskier often lists manuscripts with a particular class of reading all at once on one page, and then a general listing on a subsequent page. If one did not see the previous list, one might erroneously conclude by silence in the subsequent list, that a particular ms agrees with Stephens' TR, for example.… (plus d'informations)
