This book book would be great for someone who has things they need to memorize. I related to some of the tactics I use, and I some new methods that were intriguing, and I will try next time I have something I want to remember. I would love to have a photographic memory, or total recall of all information I deemed relevant, but getting to this using the tactics presented in the book would require not only the up front time investment of creating the memories (easy enough), but those memories must be reviewed to remain. Time is precious and the value of remembering those things must be outweighed by the time required to solidify the memory. For example, is the value of being able to recite the first 10,000 digits of pi or the memoirs of Sherlock Holmes worth the time investment? An extreme example, but it makes my point. I remember almost nothing of the history classes I took in high school and college. If I had a time machine and could go back and use the techniques presented here to maintain these memories would I? Nope, because I was never interested in it at that level and the review effort doesn't meet the value equation. When something comes up, I'm just as happy to google it. :-)

In short, if you need to memorize stuff, read this book. The tactics are solid and work well, but the commitment to long term memory takes more review effort beyond the initial memorization.
