"Hookesy" is a good example of the cricketing autobiography that actually sounds like the cricketer himself, without interference by ghostwriters. Hookes shoots from the hip about many issues and is open about his career, as you can sense an undercurrent of Hookes realising he could have achieved more. He also talks about his captaincy and mentions that the hardest decision he ever had to make was dropping Rick Darling from the South Australian side.
A very good read, made poignant by Hookes's death out the front of a suburban Melbourne pub; which really shouldn't be the way childhood idols die.… (plus d'informations)
