Two prominent football journalists select best ever VFL club teams from players who played between 1925 and 1980. Veteran journalist Alf Brown provides a tribute to the greats of the past and the 10 players to have played 300 VFL games to that time are profiled. A largely pictorial book with only brief biographical details about most players. Many excellent and classic action black and white photographs. This book is very similar in content and style to The Top 240, 1982 by Hobbs and Brown.

The main criticism of the book though is that it is very VFL-centric; no South Australian (eg. Bob Quinn or Ken Farmer) or Western Australians make the cut, unless they played in the VFL (Polly Farmer makes an appearance). Still, worth a thumb through to see if there any players you didn't know.… (plus d'informations)
