Very detailed, and in fact too much detail about sadistic killings.
Maybe it would be more interesting to a reader who has read the previous three in the series, but to me, who hasn't, the characters are very cardboardy (and if there ain't such a word, there oughta be).
Frankly, the antagonist is so insane, it's hard to accept he could plan and carry out his depredations and be successful and even get away.
The writing is rather strange, too, but perhaps it's because the author has feet in both these United States and the United Kingdom.
Not a book I'd recommend, but obviously quite a few people do like it.

Joe Hunter is hired by Richard Dean who wants to keep his daughter safe from her abusive boyfriend, but the truth is different and to complicate the story a fallen angel, Dantalion, intervenes.

The narration follows an usual action plot with gun fires, car chasing, and all still alive, with a lot of scratches, until the end.
The best parts of the book are the changing of point of views between Joe Hunter and Dantalion, when the same action is viewed from different angles.
The characters are just sketched and the dialogs between actions don’t keep suspense high.
I preferred less textbook’s descriptions of guns, knifes, helicopters, or how to spy other people.
Although these lacks in the book, action sequences keep the reader clinging to the page and the book is readable.

An entertaining enough, if forgettable, no brainier action novel with a retired special forces guy hunting a serial killer. It doesn't come close to attaining the quality of the Jack Reacher novels that it emulates, but it's diverting enough

Structurally pretty much identical to the first book in the series, but the formula works well enough
