This is the story of a sensational mass murder that occurred in Kilgore, Texas in 1983 and has never been fully solved. It's a story of bungled handling of the crime scene, as well as evidence by the police, the false accusation of innocent people and corruption at every level of the Texas system of justice. It is a story that needs to be told by investigative reporters who aren't afraid of offending people, and unfortunately the book's two authors are not those people. The writing is amateurish and their rosy portrait of the owners of the paper in Tyler, Texas (who incidentally employs them) has nothing to do with the story except, perhaps for furthering their own careers. Luckily this book was a fast read. Still it's hours that I will never get back.… (plus d'informations)
