A. W. Hendry (1921–2013)

A terse little tome of horror and weird fiction tales, the last story in the collection (...and the filth flows, always) gives an especially nice sense of frisson. A (W) Hendry, who also publishes work under the name A (W) Baader, writes in the tradition of Arthur Machen; the settings are contemporary, but draw their inspirations from ancient Anglican, Welsh, and Celtic legends and folktales. An up-and-coming author to keep an eye on.
