A Child's Nature Guide to Exploring the Atlantic Coast: Another book that I actually bought new - we were going to the beach and I wanted a guide to all things beach, without having to carry separate plants/birds/shells/arthropods/fish books. It's definitely aimed at very small people, and yet I've still found it more useful than the Audubon Atlantic Coast book! It's got black-and-white line drawings, and while the number of species it includes is limited, it has most of the common seashore-specific ones (I picked it particularly because the plants section is pretty good) and because it's taxonomic, you can make a guess even for the ones which aren't included. It comes with a checklist of all listed species in the back, which I have been slowly filling in. (Someday I will make it to the Florida coast and complete the thing! Someday.)… (plus d'informations)
