This is the first book I have read that was put together by the Hafens. The text and the selected extracts are well put together and kept me reading. It will be interesting to see how some of his other volumes are put together.

A history of all the handcart companies. page 55 quote states carried 400-500 pounds. Don Smith DDS says ridiculous. There was not enough weight in the company to put that much weight on each cart. Weight calculations in email from Don Smith. The quotes come from people that were there but many decades removed from the incident. Don feels it was an ego trip to state that.
