Self-serving (no surprise there) but surprisingly well-written, particularly the end, which I'd rather dreaded. Very similar in tone to What Remains (2006), and written after (2011).

Come to the Edge: A Love Story by Christina Haag really is a love story and a very moving one. I was emotionally moved by this story of the authors several years love affair with John Kennedy. John comes off as a sensitive caring young man who is unable to make a long term commitment to Christina though they are both very much in love. She is a fine and refreshing writer. I strongly recommend this book if the subject attracts you. It isn't the same old story about the Kennedys.

Not so much a tell-all as it is a loving memorial to a friend. I didn't learn much more about JFK Jr. than had been reported in the press, and some of the descriptive prose veers to awkward ("the pale color of the sky reflects back the sheer measure of your soul"). Pass on this unrevealing work unless you are totally into all things Kennedy.

I read this book for a different purpose and was surprised I found it a pretty good read overall. Typical of the twists and turns that any relationship takes in its course. Christina Haag gives us not only a character perspective of the man we all knew as John-John, but also how two people struggle to define themselves in a relationship. And not just any relationship but one that balances celebrity with personal goals and ambitions in the glare of the public eye. And at times gives a glimpse of the adventurous nature of the man that took him to the edge.… (plus d'informations)
