Gundry's NT survey is probably the first proper theology textbook I owned and read. A competent and workmanlike (if dated) overview of the New Testament, which partly explains its popularity and translation into many languages.

Nesta nova edição, o autor manteve as características da obra nos estudos neotestamentários, a abordagem que insere o estudioso no ambiente em que se formaram os textos do NT, as discussões francas e objetivas sobre a composição dos livros (local, autoria, data e autenticidade), sobre os primeiros destinatários e sobre o mundo político e religioso de então. Robert H. Gundry introduziu também algumas mudanças nesta edição, entre elas o rearranjo do conteúdo; Em vez de tratar os evangelhos de forma harmonística e acompanhar o ministério de Jesus nos evangelhos como um todo (como nos capítulos 5 a 11 da versão anterior), na nova edição o autor elaborou três capítulos que dão essa visão geral (capítulos 4 a 6) e depois trata os quatro evangelhos de forma separada, um por capítulo (capítulos 7 a 10). Mudança de estrutura - Praticamente eliminou as notas de rodapé e incluiu essas informações sob a forma de comentários dispostos em caixas especiais à margem do texto, ou as incorporou no próprio texto.… (plus d'informations)
