There are a handful of publishers – most of them foreign and some of them magazines – whose books I will almost certainly buy (if priced within reason) due to a high quality assemblage of text, drawings and photos: a+t, A+U, GA, GG, and Process. These publishers specialize in presenting buildings and projects around a theme/type and by particular architects. Of these, GG's books and magazines (the latter under 2G, which is sadly no longer publishing in print) are great for their varied formats full of numerous drawings and photos on individual architects. This book on Gaudí is one of their compact monographs, the size of a slim romance novel. Inside it is all black and white, but that's a not a big downside, since there are so many other books on the Catalan architect that are full of color photos. This one benefits from the drawings, which are either original or ones drawn by architecture students in Barcelona. Text is thorough for such a small book, though unfortunately the English translation is riddled with errors, some easy to overlook but some confusing the meaning of whatever the author is striving for.… (plus d'informations)
