Good introductory history of Maori in the Dunedin area (southern South Island, New Zealand). One chapter highlights the prisoners of Parihaka who were brought to Dunedin after Government forces invaded Parihaka. Later chapters focus on the establishment of Dunedin's multi-tribal urban Araiteuru Marae. Does not have much information on the Ngai Tahu Land Claim (Te Kereme) - this is covered in depth in books by Harry Evison
